Obituary for Michael Stephen "Mike" Lee

Michael “Mike” Stephen Lee, loving husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away at his home in Westport, Friday, August 13, 2021. He was 68 years old. Mike was born on April 9, 1953 to James and Barbara Lee in Seattle, WA.
Growing up, Mike spent his childhood in Orting, WA graduating from Orting High School in 1972. After high school he went to work at multiple tire stores in the Seattle- Tacoma area. In 1979 Mike then moved to Westport where he went to work at Fisherman’s Tavern, Bay Fish, and then retired from Westport Police Department in 2003. During this time, he met the love of his life Diane Miller and they later married on February 8, 1980 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Towner, ND.
Mike was an active member of the Lions Club from 1980 to 1990, actually being the club’s president from 1981 to 1983. He also was the Ocosta School Board Director from 1990 to 1999. During Mike’s spare time he enjoyed camping with his family, woodworking, especially making toys for his grandkids and friends, and watching TV or movies.
Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years Diane Lee who resides at the family home in Westport; sons Chris (Tanya) Lee of Lake Bay, WA, Nick (Tiffany) Lee of Orting, Mike Lee II of Westport, and Tim (Angelica) Lee of Enumclaw; siblings Jim (Debbie) Lee of Tacoma, Joe (Susi) Lee Gresham, OR, Pam (Dave) Knowles of Olympia, Linda (Mark) Bailey of Montesano, and Helen (Ron) Knotek of Puyallup; as well as 10 grandchildren Tyler, Josie, Natalie, Nathan, Kelsi, Mason, Izabella, Evelyn, Ella, and Hudson.
Memorials can be made in honor of Mike to Providence Cancer Care.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Aberdeen's St. Mary Catholic Church. A potluck celebration of life reception will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Grayland Community Hall. Michael will be laid to rest during a private committal service at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
